January 2006
CD Release Show, Friday, January 13, 2006 Iota Club & Cafe
Actiondale Studios is presenting a night of music featuring The Hickories, Shannon Brown & Band, and David Kitchen
Opening the night is David Kitchen, accomplished singer songwriter whose impressive performing resume includes American Song, The Thrillbillies, the Chambers Bros. and guest shots with just about everyone in the DC Metro roots rock mafia. Session musician and sought after sideman showcases his own highly praised (and covered) songs. Not to be missed!
Next up Shannon Brown & Band.
West Va. transplant singer songwriter whose debut has been described as "Karen Carpenter fronting the Rolling Stones", a diverse mix of Americana and Pop with some alt-rock grit.
The Hickories headline the show and will debut a new E.P. Lost in Pennsylvania. Imagine the Mamas and Papas san Papas mixed with some Murmur era R.E.M. plus a healthy dose of new Americana thrown in.

The House Is Rocking

Enduring the D.C. club circuit since the mid-90's, the 'House self-released a 4 song demo and their self-titled full length CD before getting rave reviews on the garageband.com site. Their new release "Future Perfect" will be distributed by garageband.com in a deal which is unique to the industry, and reflects the impact of the Internet on traditional music biz models. For more details and to hear their fab songs check out the www.yumahouse.com and www.garageband.com sites.
Mob Takeover
In a move worthy of Tony Soprano, Fairfax, VA gang Smartbomb and producer/engineer Lou "Hitman" Giordano (Goo Goo Dolls, Live, Sugar) staged a two week takeover of Actiondale for tracking on Smartbomb's Razor and Tie debut "Yeah, Well Anyway..." Highlights included iron chef Scott's Barbeque-a-rama, the ground loop party, and finding dental floss for Lou.
